The Weekend!

This weekend we went to the Observatory with Jim.It was fun on the way there we got to use the ham to talk to girl scouts they were so excited lol.When we got to the observatory we just made the last part of the lecture.The lecture was about NASA's mission to Mars had to be pushed back to 2013.The astrounats found water ice crystals on Mars which intrests all the scientest in the world to make missions to Mars to see what else they can discover.With the ever-increasing population and natural resources on the earth heavily consumed each day, mankind apparently has to explore other planets to enlarge its living space.In the future, Mars exploration may give answers to environmental, living and developing problems facing the human being.Mankind's dream and passion to explore Mars and the outer space will never cease, and man surely will understand the mysterious universe better and better.After the lecture we explored the observatory's intresting(wierd) collectables like: the eyes in the jar,little alien,and a couple of other things.(see pictures)Then we went to look through the telescope and Greg was working the telescope that night.When it was my turn to look through the telescope I saw:Saturn,two stars from the big dipper,a blue & red dwarf star(i think thats what its called).The biys really missed it I cant wait to go back.Saturday I just slept till 2 then my group got together and we finished the Pre-PDR.I'm really proud of my team we really stating to come together even though we still got our quorks but I mean who doesn't.On Sunday Cayla and I whooped Zo and Nedjbi in Spades 100 to 15 hahaha Victory.

first part of the day

Today we had a lecture on project management.Establishing a project schedule determines the ordering of tasks, helps identify resource conflicts, and provides assurance about completion time. To develop a project schedule Greg showed us how to use Microsoft project.While using Microsoft program I found it be very useful and it wasn't that difficult to figure out kinda like a different excel.After that lecture we played around on Visio for a little bit.Working on Visio was similar to using Illustrator. Illustrator is a graphic design program where you can actually create all the shapes you want or anything really.The next lecture was on Risk management and Greg showed us how it will help us.Hopefully we get to go the Observatory tonight we have nothing else to do besides work.LoL

FINALLY MY PASSWORD

Its been along time since I have written a blog I forgot my password to get on here. So Ima do a short summary of what I didn't get to write before today. On Saturday we went to the cancer treatment center.Going there was very enlightening to me. I didn't know that there was a place helping the unfortunate cancer patients who can't afford the treatments.Those people are angels to me breast cancer runs in my family so going to the cancer center hit home.Three of my aunts and my little cousin have had cancer in the past year but thank God that it wasnt that bad each case was caught early.After that activity Jeremy,Ashle,Cayla,Lonzo ,and I wanted to go canoing but couldn't cause they were all booked. So we went swimming instead Sunday was HAM day we were so excited to do the uf party and no one was on air to get in contact with it sucked.But Dana had a plan he sent some of the older HAMS some where else with a radio and we practiced talking to them. Monday I really can't remember but now we have the Pre-PDR template.So that means time to get down to business so far my team and I have been working real hard to have the Pre-PDR done.Yesterday we met Colleen and Dan they seems cool and helpful.I love their smart cpu.I really hope my team and I can work on our communicating skills because it just seems like no one can ever say their oppinion without someone getting mad.Last night or early today I finished my sections for the Pre=PDR Im so proud of me so hope every one else is done with theirs so we can move to the next goal.Well thats all I can think of right now.

LOL AT THE BLOG REVIEW!I write in all caps to emphasize how I feel that day.Sometimes it means I'm stressed or mad either way that is just how I express myself.I thought the Blog was just to show your point of view on your experiance during this program. I know how to write when its time to but I'm just writing how I feel and what I been through but thanks Colleen H. Fava for your input.But as for the projects we have been doing hmm let me see.....TODAY j/p we worked more with the bread board we built our circuits had a few mishaps.The first mishap people were late which made greg n the others feel like THIS SO I BET IF THEY HAD TO BLOG THIS IS HOW THEY WOULD ABOUT HOW THEY FELT lmao.I understand how they feel so everyone new bedtime and one word "COFFEE!"The second mishap I made shhh dont tell any one I didn't have my wire in the right place.After the circuit was built we still were having promblems getting the right output voltage for measuring the pressure sensor.After we tested like four times to see what the promblem was we found out that one of the operational opamp wasn't connected. (its funny cause there was 6 of us plus Brad & Jim checking it and we didn't know one amp wasn't connected funny)After that was done we got to see the pressure sensor work on our board FUN! Um hmm I was jealous of Jim's bread board it was so neat so I unplug my bread board and tried to do a "Jim"lol.Over all today was funny and interesting this weekend sounds fun I'll let you know on Sunday when I write all about it. and now a fat lady fallin off a table to lighten the mood! enjoy

THIS WAS FUN WEEKEND EVERY ONE WAS FINISHED WITH OUR BALLOON SATS WE WERE SUPPOSED TO LEARN ON FRIDAY SO FRIDAY WAS KINDA A FREE DAY. SATURDAY WAS MY FIRST TIME USING A HAM OMG I WAS SO SCARED HERE ARE SOME PICS:GREG MESSIN WIT ME, MY BALLON SAT, AFTER ME N ASH BEAT THE BOYS I BUILT A CARD HOUSE LOL, DANA EXPLAINING THE LADDER WIRES,THE SATELLITE , SUM THING COOL THAT JIM MADE IN A ALTOID BOX AKA DIGITAL INTERFACE,HAM CARDS, HAM TALKING THROUGH THE CPU, AND THE RADIO LOL.

I really liked todays hands on project I learn better doing with being able to acutally see what I'm doing plus the best teacher is trial and error lol You learn from your mistakes. Its 10:12 pm AND I FINSIHED MY SKEETERSAT AND IT WORKS : ) IM SO HAPPY!!! I made a couple mistakes but I fixed them and it really helped that I had my contacts on lol. But we got our checks today that big number was very nice to see lol I got a little bad/good news Mr. Douglas fixed the viruses on my cpu but my wireless doesnt work and guess what......... I bought it from Circuit City and their bankrupt : ( So that money will come in nice for a new cpu. OH and OMG MR. GREG AND EVERYONE KNOW MY MIDDLE NAME I HATE IT WITH A PASSION LIKE I REALLY DO. I have other nick names if you need to tell us apart for real cause it was cute and funny today but idk bout the rest of this internship lol but seriously Thats it for today!NOW TIME TO SLEEP LOLTTYL.
